We hear about mothers caring for their pregnancies and newly born children. But what about biological fathers? Unbeknownst to many, a male’s role in fathering begins prior to conception! That’s right, sperm count, and sperm motility are affected by his vitamin D status.

Vitamin D is intricately connected to the male reproductive system. Surmising this fact, a team of Scandinavian researchers recently investigated vitamin D3 levels of male fecundity, or fertility, in more than one thousand men. The research team examined data about sperm production including sperm ejaculation, as well as fertility biomarkers such as estradiol (a form of estrogen) levels.

The 2025 study, published in the journal Andrology, concluded that lower vitamin D3 status is directly related to decreased sperm production and ejaculation. This includes lower sperm count as well as motility!

So, a male’s role in successful pregnancy and newborn health is paramount. Following the Vitamin D Wellness Protocol (available on this website) may increase the likelihood of effective, healthy conception.

Well, what about a female’s role in successful pregnancy and newborn health? Check out the popular book Defend Your Life II: Better Health from Preconception to Adulthood for this information plus a lot more. (Available on this website.)
